I never stop building Shadow and wont waste time listing all the sheds, covered decks, room additions a guest cottage and complete renovate of house. Stick with it, it'* not that hard. All you really need is pratical knowledge and some right tools.
Throw away the old power saw and go to Lowes and get a cutoff saw and a table saw. And a rotozip is an awesome companion. All it takes is accurate measurement, patience and straight cuts. And I never hammer. Everything is screwed. Joist hangers and assorted clips are my best friend.

I made a 1and a half bath that were right next to each other into 1 large bathroom, replacing the shower stall with a whirlpool tub and ceramic tiled the walls. Ran gas to the kitchen for the stove that only had 220v (I prefer to cook with gas) and ran 220v in the garage and moved the old stove out there. It keeps the house cooler when you cook in the garage during the summer

My parents' old *** 160 year house:
Added bathroom (just an outhouse before)
Added rear storage rooms
Made two adjacent bedroom upstairs into one (was my room)
Removed fireplaces and one of two chimenies
Extended north face of house 4 feet
Rebuilt front porch
Added BASEMENT under most of original house (it was just crawl space originally)
Added basement under rear storage rooms
Added basement under dining room with walk in vault
Raised west third of house to level with the rest
Replaced tin roof with shingles
Made side hall and adjacent hall into one
Added bathroom upstairs
Added laundry room/pantry
Split kitchen/family room into two seperate rooms
This was all done after my parents moved in 1970, before I was born in 1981 and I don't know in what order. Windows are original.

Tons of general maintenence and repairs like replacement windows, texture & paint celings, added 3 courses of cement block to basement egress to fix water leak, refurb lawn, etc, etc... The only thing I have a pic of is the new tile floor in the bathroom:
