Default WELCOME NEW MEMBERS.

Welcome to the GMForum. We are home to the original BonnevilleClubForum. The oldest, largest, most complete and informative Forum on the Internet regarding the Bonneville.

As with any Forum we have a way of dealing with sectioning and where and how to put things. Myself and Moderators are here to help you learn your way around. If anything leaves you with a question, feel free to ask me in a PM, or post a thread about it in the Lounge. If and when you make a mistake, I or a Moderator will move a post for you to the proper section and give you a brief explanation. We all have done it and not something to worry about like in a lot of forums. Our success depends on YOU. Helping with your car and making you feel comfortable here is OUR key goal.

Please add your year and trim of your vehicle to your signature line. That way when you start asking questions in other areas of the forum, we all have a better idea on how to assist you. Click on "Quick Links" above, go down to "User Control Panel" and then click on "Edit your Signature" It'* pretty straight forward from there.

Default Adding an Avatar

Adding an Avatar To Your Post Profile -

Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post. To add an Avatar click on the “User CP” button at the top of the page. On the new page on the left hand side under “Settings & Options” click on “Edit Avatar”. You can elect to use a pre-defined generic avatar or you can use a custom avatar. You can elect to choose an avatar hosted on a web server or upload one from your own computer. Custom avatars cannot be any larger than 144 X 86 pixels or 198KB – which ever is smaller. After you have selected an avatar, click on “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page. Your avatar will be displayed on all your prior and future post. Please consider that this forum is not intended for adults only, and you avatar should be of good taste and past the social standards of being PG rated and not offensive.

Default Photo Hosting and Including Photos in Posts

Photo Hosting and Including Photos in Posts-

Often the best way to ask a question or to show a problem which makes the most sense, is to include a photo or two in the post. To do so, you need to have your photos hosted on another web service that can serve up image files. Many members use www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com. Your photos should not be any larger than the limits set in the post under this one (so they fit in the forum well) and please do your best to minimize the file size (the larger the file size and the more pictures you have in your post, the slower the post offering). To add a photo to a post, from within the editor box for the “New Thread” or “Reply” options, make certain that the flashing cursor within the Message Editor box is where you want the picture to be shown, then click on on the yellow square box that has the mountain and sun on it. A window will pop open that reads “Please enter the URL of your image:” - Enter the url link to the image then click “Ok”. Your image should now be displayed in the Edit Message Block. You may also choose to put the image tag that starts and ends with [img] provided by the photo host site directly into the reply using copy/paste. To add more text above or below the image, just place your flashing cursor where you want to within the Message Editor and type away. When satisfied with your post, click on the “Post” button.

Default Adding a Photo to your Signature Block

Adding a Photo to your Signature Block -

A photo in your signature block is not required, however; it does add a certain ‘flare’ to your posts. To do so, you need to have a signature banner that is hosted on another web service that can serve up image files. Many members use www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com.

Your signature banner may not contain explicit images or advertising for any company / business. Use a .jpg or.jpeg format for maximum image compression and display clarity.

For Non Supporters / Standard Members:

Your signature banner cannot be any larger than 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall and 50KB in size. Any larger than the allowed size, the forum will not display it.

For Supporters / Paying Members:

Your signature banner cannot be any larger than 600 pixels wide by 150 pixels tall and 75KB in size for Level 2. For Level 3 Supporters your signature banner cannot be any larger than 600 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall and 100KB in size for Level 2.

To add a signature banner click on the “User CP” button at the top of the page. On the new page on the left hand side under “Settings & Options” click on “Edit Signature”. In the “Edit Signature” add your username and or real name in the edit area, it’* up to you; include the year and trim of your Bonneville. You have some limited controls for changing text fonts, size, colors and attributes. Once you get the text out of the way, click on the icon that looks like the ‘Earth with a Chain Link’. A window will pop open that reads “Please enter the URL of your image:” - Enter the url link to your signature banner then click “Ok”. Your banner should now be displayed in the Edit Signature Block. When satisfied with your signature block, click on “Save Signature” at the bottom of the page.

Default Signatures

For those that are new here to the forum, please, put your YEAR, MAKE, MODEL and ENGINE in your signature like what you see in mine. This helps our Gearheads immensely when answering your questions here.

All you have to do is click on UserCP in the upper left, then in the lower left, click on Edit Signature.
