Nice to be a member!
Hi everyone,
I've visited this site numerous times before, looking for information/posts about Bonneville issues. Why I didn't join earlier so I could post, ask questions, etc. I have no idea, D'OH! Anyway, glad to be here
Currently rebuilding a 2003 Bonneville SE with 148,000 miles - a super clean auction car I bought earlier this year. Leaking valve covers but when I went to replace seals I found the engine totally gunked up with sludge. Judging by the condition of the rest of the car, all I can figure is the previous owner used Pennzoil or Quaker State conventional motor oil, notorious for ruining engines bc their crude oil contains paraffin (wax). Apologies to anyone that'* a Pennzoil or Quaker State fan :/
