New to the forum. I have 2000 Olds Alero 3.4L. There always to be something going on with this car so I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions on here. I like what I see!

Welcome to the forum Zach. This is the time of year where everyone is getting back under the hood after a long winter season.

Welcome to the forum, Zach! Any pics of your Alero? Any mods/upgrades planned?

Thank you all! I suppose I could post some pics of the ol' Alero although it'* nothing special. No mods or anything. Just trying to take care of it with regular maintenance and getting things fixed right away. Hopefully it'* worth sticking a little money into. I know these cars don't have the best reputation.

guess it depends how picky you are about having everything working. not likely going to happen on one of those. but if you just need a reliable commuter, that engine and trans are pretty good

That'* good to know. I know the Intake Manifold Gasket is a common problem but I replaced that so I hope she holds up.

thats the only problem some have, i had a 03 3400 and some models had the felpro update from the factory by then. i had about 200k on mine before i traded it in with no internal engine problems. you just have to keep up on the coolant changes. do it every couple years no matter what gm says

Why are the coolant changes important?
