Being fiscally challenged myself, I understand what you're saying. The pleasant surprise on the Aurora was that it got equal gas mileage to the Olds LSS it replaced (18-19 city, 28 hwy). Granted, I did have the extra expense of burning higher octane fuel, but I found pretty quickly that I got equal mpg and performance from mid-grade as I did from premium. Same is true on the Caddy, although it'* slightly thirstier, getting 16-17 around town and 25 hwy on a good day. That said, I'm enjoying the Bonneville'* 19-20 city and 30+ hwy mileage.
I'm not planning much in the way of mods to the Bonne. I mainly just want to get it painted so it looks decent.

welcome to the forum! when i was looking for my car it was a hard decision between a deville like yours an aurora and the park. in the end the deal breaker was the 2 extra cylinders. being 17 i can honestly say i think i would have had to sold the others. i can barley keep up with this cars mpg lol.
do you plan to do any modifications?
