Hi all!
This is a great place for people who like to know their car and take care of them, just discovered bonnevilleClub and was impressed by the discussions! I go on Yahoo Groups as well for vehicle discussion.
We bought a real nice silver '02 SE with moonroof, leather seats, steering wheel radio controls, and 46k on it about a month ago. I love driving it. It was a lease car from NJ, but I got the service records and they had replaced the steering Mid-shaft already. So far the steering is smooth and ok. I also got them to flush the tranny and change the tranny filter. They wanted to flush-only (I don't think so!).
Several things I need to do real soon is replace the rear right shock airline (it is almost worn through) and change the PCV. I've read all the threads about the PCV'*. Then, find a place which does Window Tinting. I am guessing there is a more permanent type that can be done on the car, other than the film stickers from the auto parts stores.
Hope to contribute some lessons learned of my own, such as the front door water leak I got fixed up. I described that in the 2000-2005 common problems Forum.
One lingering mechanical problem I have: the antilock kicks in ("false modulation") frequently when I am putting real light brake pedal pressure on at higher speeds (above about 40mph). I haven't searched the threads about this YET. I would like to fix this soon because I suspect it could wear out some of the ABS valve components eventually.
Oh one other thing, I just ordered the service manuals from Helm. I think they were $140. The set I have for my S10 are outstanding to have when doing a service for the first time!

Welcome to BC, Woody!
This is an active club and we like to help each other out, so hop right in!
On your ABS issue, I really don't have the expertise to help, but I suggest you copy that bit and start a thread in the 2000-2005 section so that it gets the attention it deserves. It'* likely that someone here can help and if not, then we'll all learn together and save the next guy some trouble.

Welcome to the club. We've seen a lot of new members from PA recently. Check out the Regional Meets section where we are planning a meet in July in Philadelphia.

Re:
Thanks for the welcome everybody! I've already posted my ABS problem under 2000-2005 mechanical and am quite sure somebody will have had experience with it.
