Hi from central MN!
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to say hello, and that this is a great resource for people!
My 98 SLE is being a tempramental POS, so I spent some time looking up why it blows cold air on me now that it is cold out. I replaced the programmer because it wouldn't switch between defrost, middle and feet. Now it does that, but it usually blows cold air when I want it hot.
Did some snoopin around, and looks like maybe my air mix door actuator is the culprit. Sometimes it randomly stops in the middle, even though I command it to go full hot. Soo... looks like I have to tear into that now.
Im being a little sneaky, and using a long screwdriver to "coax" the arm wherever I want it for now, until I have the time and patience to dick around with that.
I am on carmaroZ28 more as I have a Firebird built to the hilt. I just try to keep my bonnie on the road as my luxuroius winter beater. bs2
rkrThe Bird has a 520 crank hp motor built by me, all daily driven in the summer. Viper mainshaft conversion T-56 manual tranny, carbon fiber driveshaft, and a Strange Engineering Dana 60 rear. That thing is fun to drive, but I need my bonnie as the reliable car. haha.

Thanks! I love online communities... they are a wealth of info for specific cars! That is why I hung out so much over at camaroZ28.com, fbody.com and mnfbody.com. I look forward to getting to know some of the knowledgeable peeps over here!
Here is a link to my Firebird page on cardomain. Sadly, the bonnie doesn't have one because its all stock. haha. http://www.cardomain.com/id/FirebirdStudd
The bird hasn't gotten to the track with the new motor/tranny/rear end and gears. The clutch is still my critical blowout part... looking to get a mcleod street twin installed when I graduate from college and have some MONEY! The bird has taken 5 years to get where it is at. soo close, yet soo far away. ahaha.

Welcome Cody. Hopefully we are a good resource for you to keep your tempermental Bonneville in good running condition. Like Danthurs said, pics would be appreciated.

The only thing not stock thus far is the alternator, which came from FMP. haha. Otherwise, I use stock parts in it. Even the fluid, since I work at a Chevy Dealership and with my discount I can afford the cold climate power steering fluid.

Welcome to the Bonneville Community Cody. Glad to have you join. The Stock SLE issue wont be an issue for long. Where in central MN do you reside in? I myself come from St. Cloud. There are a few of from the area
