Default Aurora in Minneapolis

Hi all, I found this sight from a guy (haro-something) w/ a bonneville that joined over at http://aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?

The Aurora is black with dark tint but otherwise stock, just passed 90K, she needs a new paint job and could use some shocks, but otherwise stock. Is this a G-platform? Otherwise, I didn't know these supercharged 3.8s are so damn fast!! It seems like running mid-low 14'* is rather easy. As much as I love the V8 power of the Aurora (and that sound!!!) I might look for a supercharged Riviera for a nice luxo-sleeper...

Nice to be a part of your community!

To answer your question, yes, the 2000+ Bonnie(and LeSabre) share the G-body platform that went under the 00+ Rora.
The 95+ Riviera and 97+ Park Avenue also use the G-body, but have more differences in the frame.

The LeSabre and Bonnie, however, are still listed by GM as H-bodies though. It gets a little confusing around 97, because the 97+Park Ave is G-based, but still called the C-body. Then everything just goes nuts.

Welcome to the club.

Yes they are. They still have the H-body designation, but if you put your 00+ on a lift beside my 98 PA, the frame is almost identical, just streched a little here and there on the PA. Same goes for the 00+ Rora and 00+ Lesabre. GM changed the actual platform, but kept the same body designations the same. The Riviera and first-gen Rora have bigger differences because they are the first generation of G-body, where-as changes were made to the platform when it was put under the PA, and those changes carried over to the 00+ Bonnie, LeSabre, and Rora.

One of these days, someone needs to get a techinfo article written up on this, it crops up too often.

Yeah, haro came over to the Aurora forum to show off his photographic talent and then had the audacity to link that video of him laying waste to the 'rora. I dunno about him...

I'm on the outskirts of Uptown
