Question fuel pump issues

Why do I lose fuel suction after 6ft using a mechanical fuel pump after placing a new pump in?

to the fuel selector valve, I also tried a fuel gas can full of fuel and got the same result.

I'm pulling and the return line goes back to the tanks, but it also depends on the side you are using.

You need a high volume pump when pulling.
