2009 Suburban Drop in locker
Hi guys,
I have an 09 Suburban 4x4 with a 3.42 axle ratio (gu6) . Its an open diff, and I would like to add a drop in mechanical locker, like the g80 my brother has in his z71. I do some moderate offroading and would like to avoid getting stuck. Anyone have any guidance as to how hard of a job this is, or suggestions as to what types of mechanical lockers to look at? I have done somewhat involved motor work before, but no axle work.

You'd have a hard time going wrong with an Eaton. Or, look for a junkyard donor that has the factory unit still in it.
