Takata Airbag Recall 49152

I have imported my 2007 Yukon Denali to Canada only to be told they will not release the "RIV inspection form" (the last real step in the process) until the airbag recall is cleared. Who can I talk to up the line about this recall issue? ...besides the poor folks answering the phones that say they are sorry for the problem. Has there been a ruling? Is there a fix coming or not? This recall doesn't affect most vehicles day to day, but mine must be fixed in order to plate the vehicle. At this point I have a GMC paperweight in the driveway. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

After a little Googling, I have found roughly 3 answers for you.
1. Go to a GM dealer and trade it in.
2. Bring it to the US and sell it locally.
3. You have a 5000lb paper weight.
It'* disturbing that Canada has a law like that. If anything, the law should only stipulate that the vehicle cannot be resold through automotive retail shops until the campaign is completed.

The Google says your paperweight is 635 pounds heavier than you thought above . . . so there'* that I guess.
I looked around and found:
https://www.gmtakataairbag.com/produ...call/home.html
. . . in the United States they're committed to your safety, and even better doesn't have your vehicle listed when you scroll down a bit. That'* probably not a guarantee though.
Then in other news, the Canada version doesn't seem to mention being committed to your safety, but also doesn't seem to mention your vehicle:

Not sure if you've dug around in these sites yet. They might be helpful.

I haven't seen it answered yet: Does a GM dealership in Canada have the ability to fix or clear this recall?
The Google says your paperweight weighs 635 pounts more than you thought, so there'* that.
In the United States, they appear to be committed to your safety, and your car doesn't appear to be listed here:
https://www.gmtakataairbag.com/produ...call/home.html
In Canada, they don't mention their level of commitment to your safety, and also don't appear to mention your car at:

I'm not sure if you've gone through these pages yet. Perhaps they'll help?

Are there any updates on the recall "fix" for the airbag issue? It seems the same standard know nothing / do nothing / check back later... line is getting old. Has anyone heard of any progress?
