WORST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! updated
so i brought my car in to the shop today to put in a 195* t-stat and change my tranny fluid and filter. so i drain my fluid and it looks kinda iffy, then i look at the pan and theres small what look to be aluminum shaving. F***!!!! so i go to ask one of my friends something and i come back and my teacher is by my car. first thing out of his mouth, "your tranny'* fried" F*** F***!!!!!!!! so i talk to him about it more and he says 1500 for either mine rebuilt and installed or a rebuilt/new one installed. ****!!!!! then he says it can be rebuilt for around 300. not too bad. hes gonna talk to the automatic transmission teacher and see if he can rebuild it in class. now very depressed, i change out my t-stat, then i put my tranny filter and pan back on then fill it with fluid. then one of my friends tries to close my trunk and it wont. ()@!$%*&$(!@^&!(%*! the spring that moves the jaw either broke or came off its mounting point. so i spend the next hour trying to rig it so it wil stay closed. i end up having to tear out the whole rear seat and use mechanics wire to tie it closed from inside the truck. at this point im so depressed and pissed i dont even kno what.

Sorry to hear it'* not going well.
Next time.. put the mechanics wire on the lid....loop to bottom catch and run through the seat pass through. Pull wire closing trunk. Should eliminate the need to pull the back seat. But your latch is probably in the locked position..I'd stick the key in to check.
And..at least the trans didn't leave you stranded somewhere..it still works..just lots of shavings.

Sorry about the tranny man, but don't be discouraged $300 sure beats $1500. Try to talk them into putting a shift kit in it as well .
