Wish me luck!
I'm headed out tomorrow morning bright and early for a 1700 miles trip in my 1992 SSE.
From Salem, Oregon to El Paso, Texas.
Do you think she'll make it??
I just made a 400 miler last week to Tacoma and back with her to pick up my Jeep Grand Cherokee, that just arrived from Germany. I averaged 25 miles per gallon on that trip.

Ren! Honk as you go by!
And drop in on your way back. If you don't, I'll drink your beer.
Keep the rubber side down. Keep in touch, we have a couple members down in the Lone Star area.

Well, I made it, with no serious mishaps. But!
I think I got a hold of some bad gas at one station in Southern California though. I actually thought my fuel pump was going or my catalytic convertor or fuel filter were plugged. But the car would not throw any codes for anything no matter how bad the thing was losing power/ bogging / misfiring /backfiring through the intake.
The above intermittently went on for about 200miles through the desert southwest even after adding a bottle of STP gas treatment and topping the tank off with high octane gas. Until finally I guess the fuel treatment worked or the bad gas was gone.
Thanks for all the good luck comments
