Second, what happens if that guy you just tooted you horn at has massive issues with road rage, he chases you down and pulls out his shotgun.....What do you do then?
Yes people should use their signals.... But thats just not going to happen... You will always encounter an idiot on the road... For every good driver there are 2 fruitcakes out there.... I was once ran off the road by a lady as I was merging onto I-95, she was in the passing lane and went dead right ran me off the road at 75-80 mph... I was lucky as ****....
Fromm the way you have been describing your driving style you had better think twice...

I simply think of it as preparing the car to turn, that way I NEVER forget it. Way I see it, its never my fualt when some idiot hits me, I had my signal on.

Soooo..... Waiting til you are stopped or already at the street you plan to turn on to is NOT the time to use your signal. You should have turned them on at least a half a block ago! And while you are changing lanes is too late, also! You siganl, you check, THEN you change lanes.

Sorry MOS, I said that wrong, I always signal 200 ft before a turn, and I never just plow into the next lane with my turn signal just coming on, I always check. I just mean that I dont turn or change lanes without the signal becuase it feels like I'm not preparing the car.

I find myself useing them to turn into my driveway and nobody is behind me.thats when I say to myself "what are you stupid' nobodys behind you.

I signal when its needed...
as in if there is no one around I don't worry about it...
If I'm on the interstate and I'm far ahead or far far far behind( in other words a huge gap ) then I don't bother.... But if I'm in a group of cars and I change lanes I signal, look to make sure I'm clear then change lanes...
Its more about driver courtesy then anything...
Someone plowing up to traffic at 100+ is just as bad as the person not using the turn signal..
But on the same note its always good to pay attention to what going on around you at all times...

well...whenever i have a vehicle that is up and running...*cough cough* i always use my turn signals.

i only use my turn signal if i am going to affect someone eles'* direction, or speed......changing lanes on the hyway.....i will use them only if the other induvidual needs to change there speed........tuning right or left.........only if the persone behind me has to slow down, even if that person has room to go around me.......if im at a four way stop...i will deffinatly use it people need to know your intensions......
acctually overuse of ones blinker is more dangorous......leaving the left turn signal on when you get on the freeway.....sittting in the right lane and drive the next 2000 feet with it on....will cause people to slow down and move over in the adjacent lanes, (they will try to let that person in)... one anther most dagourus use of a blinker is turning right off of a road.....and someone puts it on 3 or 4 driveways prior to turing, this cuases a person waiting to get onto that road to belive that you are tuning before their driveway......so they think its ok to pull out and whammmmmmm Tbone time!!!!!!!
oh yeah another stupid use is turning your blinker on when your intension is already blatently obvious.....like moving through an interchange...and one turns their blinker on when they are already into the one lane section of the interchange.....with no other possible places to go!!!!! really dumb the whole blinker on and head **** is worse then a no blinker lane change with an informed driver that is confortable with their car.
