My Phys Ed teacher from my old school used to drive one of those, and still does. Rear shocks are shot but the gadgets still work. Does anyone else here know that the airplane shifter was in another car besides the Trofeo? I found out at the wrecker.

I know, I know! But you guys HAVE to understand this one thing: for a lot of you, you just go out, take a look at a car, and buy it. You deal with any problems as and if they come. Okay. I CANNOT afford to do this. I will be using a BIG chunk of my savings on this one purchase; as such, I can't make a mistake. No lemons, no possibility of getting a lemon, at least possibilities I can forsee and check for. I just can't afford to **** up (again). Simple as that. And to this point, I've encountered VERY few cars that meet my specifications. And when I do find 'em (basically has happened twice), before I can confirm they're okay, they're sold. Last time it was a matter of hours. But I don't have the luxury of forgoing these steps. My mechanic MUST look at it before any solid commitments to buy, I HAVE to get a Carfax on the car, and I HAVE to check with my mom first, to prevent a civil war (she'* one of those moms, I have to deal with that
)
Given these variables, I'd be throwing away a lot of deposits if I did it the way you guys want me to :? All I'm trying to say is that all of you fed up with me and this ongoing 'car crusade' have to realize my unenviable position, and take it into account in your judgement of me and my actions. And if you guys are fed up with it and are tired of reading about it, the answer is simple: Don't bother with my posts. Many do that already. If what I was doing "pissed off" enough people, I'm sure you guys could get me banned. Until such time, though, I have one word: Deal. There, I've said my piece; take it how you will...

If you get a used car there will ALWAYS be the possibility of lemons, ALWAYS. Get a 2004 $3000 KIA w/ a warrenty. Thats you're only sure way of not paying for repair costs. You'll get good mileage but you're performance will be sh*^. I mean 0-60mph in 12+ seconds sh*^. That doesn't seem to be a issue for you now though. Even if you bought a 2003 Toyota Camry, I bet w/ o a warrenty you'd have problems.
