My brother Mark has a 40th SSEi same color as Foghorn'*, but with gold package, that was fairly quick until a tow truck drug it for 100 feet and ruined the trans. -Yeah, it'* going to court.

Check your spare tire cover in the trunk for the H4U code to see if it really is an SLE. That'* how I was able to tell for sure.

As far as how it got it...
we bought it used in 2000 with 46,000 and it was my mom'* car for several years. We always assumed it was an SE and that it didn't have the anniversary package because it had no badges on the c-pillars. I got it in 2004 with about 90,000 on it but at that point I still had no clue it was an SLE or 40th aside from the floor mats. After joining the club, learning about my car'* true identity, and receiving help from the members here (Marty got me the missing c-pillar badges) I've got a ride I truly love and baby. It'* got about 130,000 on the odometer now and is still running strong.

no compressor so i dont' think so no perf shift or ccr either mater of fact it doesn't really have any options except leather. no HUD no aoto dimmer or heated out side mirriors no factory amp no al7'*.

I have a silver 97 Bonne se 40th with less than 17,000 miles on it
