Whats with the Windshield?

While I'm sure it takes a lot of force to crack a Bonneville windshield, it can happen fairly easily if you get hit with a rock on the highway. And oh yeah, if there was no windshield there and the rock hit me, it would have been pretty messy.

4 impacts on my windshield since I got the car last year.
One of them is branching out in a "star" pattern, two of the others are not, and the last one is a pretty serious etch from a pretty serious sized rock.
