Slick 50, from what I understand, is nothing but a regular motor oil that has teflon in it, that ptfe stuff. It supposed to help lubricate your moving parts, but teflon doesnt work in that manner (Dupont tried to sue Slick 50 for making false claims.) Federal Trade Commission told slick 50 a while back to quit using advertising in certain ways because of their false claims.

russian, you can really clean out your intake that way? I have done this on older vehicles and small engines but newer engines scare me and I tend to believe are fragile. It doesnt mess up any sensors or nothing? Does it help a lot? cause I have 125k miles and I just got the car so I dont know what is used to run like new.

After I got my car a few years back the oil would get dark quick after an oil change and it was making me mad so I started running slick 50 in my oil before every change and now my oil looks clear and new even after 1500 miles. My experiance is that this stuff works good if you have problem with a dirty engine I recomend it definatly.

Russian, I think that what happened was not due to the slick 50 but due to the fact that you were changing your oil regularly.

Ayup. Regular oil and filter changes _will_ clean up a neglected engine. I've picked up more than a few old cars and given them 500-mile (yes, five-hundred-mile) oil and filter changes, and after a couple of rounds like that, the oil stays cleaner for much longer, and the engine sounds obviously better as well.

Skip the miracle sludge cleaners and just go a couple of short-term oil changes instead. It'll work. (I'd say go 1500 miles between oil and filter changes until you see improvement.)
