Castrol GTX that sucker and carry on

Exactly my thoughts. I use Castrol in all my cars and don't have any problems...even on the cars that I retired with well over 200K got Castrol. It'* good oil...and combine it with a good filter and yer good to go!

I haven't heard anything bad about GTX, either.

Pennzoil, and to a smaller extent, Quaker State, are more likely to sludge up Camry V6 motors (a motor already prone to sludge if you don't change oil on schedule) moreso than other oils, so there has to be something going on there. Don't know what, though.

What I use to due is buy 4QT. Castrol GTX and than add 1QT. Castrol Syntec ; good to go !!
Kind of a cheap way to blend it plus it shouldn't leak.

Max Life just came out w/ a new synthetic.

Best oils I think are
#1 Mobil 1
#2 Castroll syntec
#3 Tie Castroll = Vavoline
Cant go wrong with any of the above !!

i personally use mobil driveclean or exxon superflo 10w30 their both the same product i havent had a single problem and i think that mobil is the highest quailty oil on the market since i pump it and im in it all day people can say what they want but their a diference in oils u can feel the difference in cheap and expenseive(sp) oils.

I am a big fan of Castrol GTX.

I ahve run it in every vehicle and bike I have ever owned. I have serviced engines with hundreds of thousands of miles and can barely get grime under my nails the motors are so clean inside.

Synthetics can leak on Higher milage engines for very good and real reasons. During the life of an engine on dino oil (which breaks down more, doesn't have many detergents, etc) you get some buildup. This isn't entirely bad, it'll plug some small leaks, or if it builds up before a hole starts you'll never see the leak. If you run Synthetic, it doesn't break down like Dino, and it has more detergents to keep clean, and those clean out the gunk plugging holes and leaks.

I changed over around 110k on mine to Mobil, and it doesn't use or drop a drop. My engine was maintained great before i got it, and even better now.
