What do you think?
New member here. I'm looking at a 93 SSEI and looking for some advice from the experts here. I used to work for a dealer back in the early 90'* but we never got one with a supercharger in. THis car has alot of miles on it but looks to be well taken care of. I don't know if the motor and trans are original but seem tight to me. Abit concerned about that many miles on the blower but it still boosts abit over 10 lbs. Matter of fact it seems to be at full boost with a quick stab of the throttle. IT has all the options including power moon roof. Everything works on it with the exception of traction control. We had that as a common probelm for this car. Gm really has a very poor anti locck brake system as well as traction control.. It has just under 200,000 miles on it but with the thing being dead quite and no rattle coming from the blower I assume it has been replaced as it still boosts as much as new I'm told anyway. It has some nicks in the drivers leather seat but other than that the interior is very nice. It has some very expensive wheels on it as well. They cost 3200.00 for the wheels alone. It also comes with the stock ones. It has stainless borla exhaust kit as well. HE saved the stock exhaust if I want it also. I'm looking at trading him my v-8 *-10 blazer for it but just concerned about the miles. Like I say it runs very good and seems very tight to me but I don't see any on the market around here and wanted to have an idea of the value of it. Thanks for your replys. Ryan

I've got a 93 ssei with a bunch of miles. Original motor replaced at 160,000 mi. After swap found problem was coil pack, not motor. Tranny and rest of car is original at 22?,000 mi. If you pass on your'*, I might be interested. Mine got sideswiped by semi. Still driving. I'm in St. Louis area.

Does it show a good vacuum level in normal driving and coasting?

Hey, anybody know if the left and right seats interchange? If so it would be great to get a right-side seat out of a junkyard donor...

I'd say buy the car. Even with the kind of miles that it has, I'm sure the price will be low enough to convince you to get it.
Repairs in the future may get a bit spendy. But thats what comes along with having an older car. The Bonneville has a very strong engine and trans, so as long as it was maintained, you should be fine.
Poke around on this board once in a while, you'll pick up a whack of advice on how to maintain your new 93 SSEi
Good luck

I'd be tempted to buy it too. Get a scantool on it and check the trans while you drive it. That would be the only iffy thing on my mind if I were considering it. At 200k, it'* probably been rebuilt.....and recently.
I'm a bit partial to the 93'*. I got a cherry one.

Ya...William Wren has one hell of a cream puff.
