Default What do you guys think of 93'*?

I've been looking a lot at bonnies lately (even though I really don't have the budget to buy right now), and I've generally found I love the look of the 93'*, and they also tend to be some of the cheapest bonnies out there

what do you guys think of them? are they worth it? will I be sorely dissapointed if I stepped back to a series I 3.8 after getting used to the series II that I drive now (actually, I usually leave it at home for my wife and duke it out with my 2.2l TBI, 90~ hp shadow)?

Are you looking at */C or N/A?

I've got the pleasure of having a L27 and L36. I honestly enjoy the drive of my old 93 more than the 99. The 99 does have tighter suspension and steering, but overall I'm slightly disappointed with it. The craftsmanship just isn't there.

The 93, for its age, is very smooth and well built. I get very little wind and road noise. I drive 62 miles one way to work (about 130 a day when it'* all said and done) and I find the 93 to be a very comfortable and powerful ride...even for being 11 years old!

the 93 is actually the best year, and there are reasons for this not to the fact that I own one

93 was last year of the flash feature for the SES light
also the last year for the digonstic for the ACC
the L27 for 93 got the roller rockers
last year for the N10 exhaust
the 93 was the last year bonne that had no resonator

and the SLE (H4U) package was born

And it'* our best supported year. Look at the high-ups, most have 93'*. DrJay, willwren have */C covered, me and jason can read the FSM to help out N/A. There'* mods on the way, the cost of parts is low... The parts used are mostly used til 95 so GM is still making them for a while.

92 lacked the more efficient valve train. 94 and 95 had the hybrid 'ugly stepmother' PCM. 93 got the best for the Series 1, as already stated. And yes, you can get good chips for them.

93 is the one to have, I was thinking of trading in my 93 SSEi this last year on a new SSEi (the last year for the "big boy l-67s") and didn't because I liked my 93 with 130,000 miles better. It had better looks, style and it has a less busy look.
In fact I'm (kinda, don't tell my wife) looking for another 93 SSEi. Go for the 93, trust me
