Hehe, this conversation is getting interesting.
Thanks a million for the suggestions & research everyone... I've got 29 days to make a decision, although I'd like it to be sooner. There is a nice Aurora in my sights at the moment, but we'll see what pops up and I'll keep you all updated!

The 4.0 was first, not made from a race engine. Good motor new, but at high milage no one really knows yet. They have low end grunt from dipslacement, then DOHC to fill in the top. I don't care what a motor has as long as it moves a car, pushrods or cams, or rotary design. Just gotta move 'er and be reliable, and decent to fix/work/play with.
I found my car on Autotrader, but the biggest part of the online listings for me was being up to date. All the owners I called for a few weeks had already sold it to someone else.

"Buy a Bonneville.... no an Aurora."

Yeah, I am surprised at myself too... :? I'm convinced that there must be some brainwashing vapor in the A/C vents of GM cars or something, because I can't seem to stay away from them. In order of purchase starting at age 16, I've had an '84 Park Avenue, '73 Electra 225, '69 Executive, '91 Caprice (9C1 police package), '98 Bonneville, and am about to buy another GM. Strange.
Guys, I think I found "the one". I hope I don't get kicked out of the group for the decision I'm about to make. More coming soon...
