My 2000 SSEi has the fuel door lock. It'* pretty loud every time I lock the car - I can usually lock it from inside the house and still hear it
It'* only a little piece of plastic, though so I'm not sure how long it will last before breaking...

I can see how that would get to be anoying. My old 89 Celebrity had a trunk release right under the steering colum but you had to have the keys in the ignition for it to work.

gas cap lock works fine (a little loud though) the biggest issue I have with the trunk release button on the door is that i forget pop in the door holder and close the door, pop usually gets everywhere (which I think is the dumbest design idea to have cup holders in the door but...) and now the switch is a little sticky. It got stuck in once and every time i had put the car into park the trunk popped, it was kinda funny.
