Hmm...don't think the whole trans has to come out to replace/rebuild just the differential. However, if you get a differently cut differential, you WILL have to pull the trans to replace the related sun gear.
If you could find the right type of diff, I would personally try the diff swap if cash is tight. It would only take a day at the most to do it (you would spend more time than money on it).

Remove the CV on that side, un bolt the housing cover, should be a big Oring in there around the housing you have to change, There is a snapring on the output shaft inside the diff I do belive, the Diff Case should now be able to come out...Your diff case might be damaged too.
You should be able to buy a Spider Gear Pionon Gear Pinon shaft kit with washers, lock pin, and all other needed peices.

ok, so if i can find a diff that is the same then i dont have to remove the tranny and it isnt a bad job. As for the removal, lets see if i have this right, remove axle, remove housing, remove o ring, remove snap ring which is on the output shaft inside the diff, pull out diff. That is the removal? As for the parts matt, is that for rebiuilding the diff? If so could i just buy a used diff and put that in with a new housing and o ring. Then put the axle back in. Do i have this right or no? I am tired and have been studing all day so if i am wrong lol dont B*tch. haha

actaully i dont do burnouts. lol, yea i can break them loose from a 15 roll and do that everynow and again but actually burnouts i dont do. This car may have done 3 the whole 6 years i have had it. I just dotn see the point of buring the tires on an automatic FWD V6 car, all you are doing is ruining tires and they are not cheap. Now if it was a 6 speed 6.0L GTO maybe haha.
Update, i have thought about it and talked to a few people and i think my best bet is to just get the used tranny. It will cost me like 300 extra, but i will have a lower milage tranny and a 6 month warranty. I think that is the "smarter" thing to do.

Seriously, i am not a "oh i can light my tires up guy". Can i lay a patch yes, do i spin my tires at the track for 60' of course my local track is in canada and they have no idea what track prep is haha. As for my mods they are mostly top end mods so far. Those are my passing gear mods haha Actually, as for the 3 burnouts in 6 years, that is 3 burnouts for me, i know my brother drove my car a few times so it is probably like 7
