yea thats my goal.. To get together about 400 for a used tranny and a few hundred for the install. Then i am going to put my original in the garage and work (rebuild) on it this summer and take pictures and what not (like you are doing) for reference for the next person that is in my perdicament. So if anyone knows somebody looking for a very nice sub or amp for a set of speakers pm me (also posted in the lounge). That would be a nice start.

small update- Was able to look in the road and follow the path of trans fluid. It is about 1/2 mile long. And about 100 feet before the fluid starts there is some metal looks like flakes in the road. I was going to get a picture but batteries were dead in the camera and now it has rained and i cant find the pieces again. But i would say they were flakes(pretty thick) and all over before the actually fluid in the road. I want to get under and look at the tranny but it has been raining for like a week now and there is so much mud i just cant. I am getting ready to tow the car down to my garage and get it ready for removal. That part is probably going to be the easy part. Scraping together the money for the used unit is going to be hard. I went and applied for a loan at my local credit union hoping but was denied (really thought i would get it, it was only for 750) . They said since i was full time at college it ruined my chances. The way it is looking right now is for the tranny and fluid and what not i am looking at around 700 probably. I am trying one more route (selling some car audio), if that doesnt work the bonneville may be out of commission for a while.

That is the differential housing. Diff is inside. Looks like catastrophic Diff damage. Maybe not the whole trans. You MIGHT be able to get by with a diff and housing from the wrecker. About 4-6 hours of work.

I would have to replace the diff and housign correct? That would cost me about 500. And the tranny still has 140K and the fluid is not good. Plus i drove the car about 1 mile like that so i dont know if there is any more problems. I think i might as well buy a junkyard tranny for 560 and 250 to get it put in. So for an extra 300 i would have a tranny with 80K and my tranny for spare parts. I just need about 500 dollars and i will be golden.
