how much does the average mechanic charge for one. also would this prolong the life of my tranny? theres nothin wrong with it now.but id like to do all i can to keep it running.from what ive gathered the engine in these cars is very close to indestructable but the trans is another story.

A FLUSH will cost you about 80-100. A fluid change and filter may be 36-40, but will only get a third of your fluid. If you really want to do it right, have them FLUSH first, then change the filter and add the 1/3 back in.

Yeah, last time I was at the dealership I had a coupon to get a bunch of stuff done. It was a 35.99 flush but then I got suckered into having other things done. Oil change, coolant flush, and a few other things. I should find that receipt, but I remember it was a FLUSH not a change because it took all day to get the car back.
