no, the SSE/SSEi tails are still Clear plastic lenses, yes they have Molded black lines in them but the Clear part is still Clear no tint at all. so that why its 100% legal
its really doesn't make them look darker, the light is still full brightness.
i know iv had mine apart and iv cleared my amber turn lens.

Heres my experience, I used nightshade to tint the tails...looked awesome....the police disagreed...I was stopped , ticketed....I went to court and I lost...The judge advised me that if I were involved in a collision where I was struck from behind....my insurance would likely not cover the claim and I would be found at fault...So for me...it wasnt worth it....

Personally I think tinting tail lights is a bad idea. A friend of mine tinted them on his Saturn, along with his windows. He was of course pulled over. The officer said he "didn't care" about the window tint (it is illegal in Alberta to have ANY non-OEM tint on the front door windows or windshield), but that if he saw him again and the tint hadn't been removed from the tail lights he would be charged.

Heres a pic of my taillights before and after tint. My buddy followed me the other day and said it still shines plenty bright during the day to be visible and safe.
