Ironic we are talking about oil and I find this old video on youtube...

12months or 7,500 miles...for a 1979 Chevrolet Chevette.

Oil filter is 12 months or 1st 7500 miles, then every 15,000 miles. That''* asking for trouble

I use to own a 81 Chevette and it was a strong running car. The only thing was it had a weak firewall and when u would hit the brakes hard enough you could feel the firewall flex LOL! I would change the air & fuel filter & spark plugs every 2 years on that car, and oil/filter changes were every 5000 miles. It had 200,000 miles (never any engine trouble) (only one clutch) and sold it for what I paid for it! One other good thing I liked about that car was the hatch back & fold down seat ..you could really put large stuff back there and leave the hatch open!
RWD it was bad in snow.
