It was definately in the oil and didn't just fall in the pan when you unhooked stuff?
Hmmm where can that happen, LIM'*, HG'* ... I can't think of any where else that coolant and oil may have the chance to mix. Even if you blew a hole in a piston (which I highly doubt) you'd smell gas, not have water in the oil.
Any ideas on how you are going to deal with the TA mount bolt? Rachael'* both came loose. She pounded the mount off and it probably should be addressed, but isn't causing an issue with the other bolts and sitting on those two. If you have good ideas ...I'll probably attempt the same for her.

The oil looked like chocolate milk. The oil was fresh when I stored it. Unless it'* condensation. I just don't get it, that engine never had a coolant leak.
Which bolt are you talking about?

You said something about a mount that you cut the head off a bolt. I thought you meant the torque axis bolts that the mount sits on and then is bolted to the body. Rachael had those nuts break off inside the body and it'* a pain to deal with that mount.
I'd think it'* hopefully condensation.

Oh ya, that bolt. Ya, the right side motor mount. There'* 2 bolts in the side and 2 on top. One of the top bolts broke loose. I would need to figure something out. The nut was welded inside the frame, and there'* no way to get at that unless I cut a hole in the frame. I might just spot weld it in place where that nut broke.
No mater what it is, the block is no longer being used, so it'* not a issue. Just would like to know what happened.

yeah, her'* are the two side ones. Like you mention they are inside the body structure and it would have to be cut open, new nuts welded in then welded shut again. Probably some undercoating after that.
I'd like to know too.. hope you did something original.

I'm not liking the idea of cutting the frame. But a spot weld will work just as good, and can be cut away if needed later on.
It may not be coolant in the oil. I had started it several times, let it warm up and then shut it off. So may have been condensation, hot engine, cold shop. Was a bit surprised when I saw the oil.
That bearing I showed looks to be worn a lot around 4 o'clock, and that'* where I would expect it considering how the timing chain pulls. And that'* the bearing I bumped with the cam.

How hard of a bump? There'* a certain amount of touching that is going to happen when installing a cam. Gentle as she goes has always treated me right on installs.

Didn't have a lot of extra time today, so I started cleaning up the engine bay.
Re wrapped the wiring harness in red, and had some extra stainless wrap so covered the fuel lines.
Then tore in to the new engine. Looks like the chain tensioner was worn.
Just great, snapped my T30 socket. So the cam didn't come out yet. Need to stop and pick up a new one.
Found me a super deal on craigslist. A grand master automotive lock pick set. I locked a customers keys in their car once. Played with it a little, unlocked the Ford, but didn't get the Bonneville yet. Wont work on the Montana, I think that'* a 10 cut lock. This set is a 5 cut which covers most doors. A nice little addition for the tool box.
