Wow Bill, you do it EXACTLY the way I do it. Except I use an old 500ft lb torque wrench as a pry bar.

There is always the tranmission guy way.
Pop the ball joints and then just pop the axles out of the trans side only. For me, they get in my way. On a lift..you can use straps to hold the struts/axles out the way.

How are getting the trans out Dan? Through the bottom or you taking both out at the same time?

Going out the bottom. I plan to hook my engine hoist up to the engine to hold it in place. After the trans is lowered down I'll move the jack to the engine and then remove the hoist and lift the trans to the stand.

I'd advise against the hoist part. There isn't really room for a jack, the hoist, a person etc under there. Things will get in the way of each other.
In 92-99 there is a TA or passenger side mount that holds the motor. Get a 4x4 and some chain and chain from the rear head to the front head (on the drivers end of the heads) to hold the motor. This is how I've done my trans and many others lots of times. It'* pretty goof proof and the least amount of work.
Yeah, there'* pictures in my photobucket somewhere..lol

After picking up a new breaker bar I got to work. About two hours today so far. So I'm taking a little brake to eat and warm up.
It fought me a lot, but I got the drivers side axle out.

Then I jacked up the engine a bit

And chained it up so I could remove the jack.

Split the sub frame. Really wasn't that hard. Had to work a bit getting a few bolts out, but really not bad. Gave it a wiggle and noticed I missed one bolt on the front trans mount, no big deal.

Now I have a ton of space.

Heading out again to pull the starter, then it'* jack up the trans and remove the mounts, undo the bolts attaching it to the engine and flex plate, then split it and lower. A few more hours I figure.

Looking really good. One trick I sometimes use is leaving the DS axle in until the subframe is pulled. Once the sub is out of the way it'* a clear shot with the prybar.
Another tip would be to go ahead and put the brakes back together when you are waiting on parts. They can stay completely together to save a little time.
How'd you like that inside back cradle bolt that is up in or the trans mount bolts? Not horrible...but not fun.
You've done a ton of work for the time invested. Like I always say..taking pics doubles the time. And it does.
