Someone tried to kill Bonnie!!!!!!
No kidding. I was on my way home from work for lunch, going down a 50mph road, when this white-haired old lady driving a 70'* Maverick pulls right out in front of me, totally oblivious to my existence!! I was damned lucky there was no one coming in the other lane, so I swerved around her. As I passed her, I noticed her window was down, so I gunned it passed her, SC whining, and exhaust growling. I think I gave her enough scare because I noticed in my rear-view that she slowed down and just about pulled off the road, then got back on and very mildly accelerated. There REALLY should be more testing for the elderly. I'm not for setting an age limit, but there should certainly be stricter requirements for them to renew their license.

I agree 100%. I've had several close calls with older ppl like that, and younger too. I'm really cautious now becuase of those ppl. And I HATE ppl here who drive with cell phones. Not anywhere else, but it'* illegal here and I always see ppl driving like idiots and then pass them and see it'* becuase they are on the cell phone. Pisses me off.

We have a lot of near-misses near a local mega-church, where people cluelessly putter out of the church parking lot into the middle of 55-mph traffic. For some reason the thing I see happening the most is one car venturing out into a legitimate hole in the passing traffic, but then he'* followed by about three nitwits who are just following the bumper in front, regardless of approaching traffic. It does seem like more often than not, it'* elderly drivers, and they're frequently carpooling other elderly folk around, all having a big chat-fest in the Buick...

There really should be some sort of re-testing of elderly to see if there fit to drive. There scary. I hate riding with my grandmother. She goes about 7 over and is always in the wrong turning lanes . The thing I hate the most is she get scared so easy. She slams the breaks when she sees a car coming down a driveway or a car coming to a stopsign as she passes. I about have to check my underware when we get back. She does drive a hell of a lot better then alot of other old persons who damn near hit me from time to time.

elderly should not be driving PERIOD. my grandfather was in good health clean driving record never one accident he has a slight stroke and caused a 5 car pile up thank god he is alive and everyone is in one piece but all the vehicles involved that shoudl not have happened. strokes and heart attcks don't have a certain time to hit. i believe they should be taken off the road at the age of 65. it'* not fair to everyone else on the road.
