scan tool question
i bought a scan tool and a cartridge that says its for my car but the plug doesnt match with mine (under the dash) so does that mean i cant use the tool on my car? or is there a different cartridge i need. I saw another cartridge there it says its a OBD 2? the clerk said that one was for newer cars, is that one maybe the one i need

You have an OBD-1 computer that is faking like it wants to be an OBD-II computer. What you need is a 12 to 16 pin adapter for use with the 94 and 95 Bonnevilles.
This is a true scan tool and not just a code reader, right?

Yeah, JR, you have the right setup. So you have a cable with a 16-pin connection on one side that hooks to the OBD-1 compliant scan tool or card.
The Tech-1 is the tool that needs the 12 to 16 pin adapter. I imagine the 12 to 16 pin adapter would work with any OBD-1 compliant tool that has a 12 pin output.
Red Baron: Does the 12-pin cable unplug from the cartridge? I think you have the right cartridge, just not the right cable.
