Anyone from NY who knows the legal tint %age? I want to get mine tinted. Don't want something too dark, but don't want something too light. I'd hate to get them done and then be harassed by picky Cops who say it'* not legal.

I was quoted anywhere from 200 to 600 Canadian to do the 9 windows on the sides and back. I dont know what that would be in Minn., so I don't know if that helps or not.

I've had a few different vehicles done, ( 2 cars and a truck) and never paid more than 200$ canadian ( the cars wre both 4 door cars).

I ended up going the "legal limit" ( even though it is not really defined around here) 35% in the front and 5% in the back.

SSE1990, My car is the same as whats on your site. I just spoke w/ the guys at Ziebart and they told me 380 for the 9 windows. They said that they do these all the time, so I don't know why these other guys were telling me that they couldn't do it.

Some shops don't like the back windows from 92-99 because of the angle. When my car was done, they removed the rear seat, the seat back, and the rear deck for better access. He said he didn't HAVE to do it that way, but wanted to to make it right.

It makes it easier if they trim the tinting to the OUTSIDE of the rear window first, then apply it to the inside.

The rear defrost isn't a prob, either, depending on the type of tinting they use. Mine has no slits, and works great, with no damage to the tinting, and no shorting of the grid.

Just remember if you go with tint, you may want the halogen backup lamps that are 250% brighter so you can see behind you while backing. They really saved my butt, and I only went with 20% all the way around.

i took mine to a performance shop who also did tint, they were supposed to do a few things that day, tinting one of them AND THE LEAST IMPORTANT. 9 hours later i pick it up and JUST the 2 rear door windows were tinted. appraently the tinter used the hole role on the back window and screwed it up 3 or 4 times. All he had left over was enough to do the 2 back windows!! They didnt have any more in stock ANd i had to drive around for 3 days like that. Then i brought it back in, they did the supercharger pulley and the front windows!!! ALL DAY again!! Then i had to wait another week before i could get back in there to finally have the back window finished. HE said it was the hardest back window that he has ever did! (He ended up only using 2 peices and cut it from the outside).
