questions about power steering and rack
my dad recently put in a new rack and pump in my car...
not sure where he got the used parts from... but im pretty sure that he replaced my "performance" rack with a "normal" rack.... the power steering is so damn powerful, i can turn the wheel all 3 times with my pinkie...
ok, so its definately better than not having a pump at all.. which was the situation i was in, but how does everyone elses steering feel?
on a side note, he filled up the tank for me.. with 89

The rack you need comes with FE2 suspension. The odds of the right rack being found by chance are slim. You got the SE rack. You should get any numbers off the rack and pump and post them for us to discect.

I have the Magnasteer rack in my 90. It is not connected electrically to anything as the controler is integrated with the ECTCM and didn't make the swap. The steering feels pretty good. Loose ... but not too loose. Kinda right in between the "easy" and "firm" feel of the TFE steering in my 93

still feels kinda weird... but i am getting used to it...and its nice to have it turn so easily sometimes...
do theese things by change "break in", cuz in my head its not as loose as it was the first 10 min... put about 200 miles on it so far...
there is no way that a new rack will be going in anytime soon, since the subframe had to be dropped for this... ill just appreaciate that my dad can do it for free, and live with it...

this is a coincidence but i just got my alingment done yesterday and the guy who did it said that i have a "lose" rack, and that he could not do any adjustments on it because of that(said something about it cousing it to leak if he did) he said it should be ok at least untill it starts to leak on its own...my question is how bad would a lose rack affect my stearing and strait line controle, might this couse there damage if i dont get it fixed and how wouls my car have somesort of "performance" rack being a SSEi or is that something speacial that harofreak00 had?
also should i not be putting in regular gas in my car with the supercharger( harofreak00 seams mad about his dad doing that)
