Question for will i think?
I am trying to figure out how to hook my cars stereo up in my room, i know it is possible cuz it has been done on this forum. i also want to hook my amp up too, it has a direct imput and i think that is what I need to hook it into something other than a car.
if someone can tell/show me how to do this i would apreciate it. email me at Hypnos_VI@hotmail.com
i have a pioneer p7300 and an alpine t757 if it helps.

Have you seen the SSEi stereo I built? It'* on my website. Click on Bonnevilles and you'll find the link to it. We've got it rocking the windows right now. Damn kids.
You need a pretty good sized transformer. The standard little black ones you plug into the wall are not enough. You need to buy a pretty good sized 12V power supply.
It'll cost you about 50 bucks to do it right, with power alone. I don't have the memory wire hooked up yet, so it doesn't remember the presets if you unplug it from the wall. I even rigged a power antenna. I do plan to hook up a small 12V dry cell for memory. It should last a couple years. Very little drain.
I'm lucky. I can grab good power supplies at work. You just have to tie in your 12V and ground to the supply, but the rest is rough-wired. I have speaker jacks on the back just like a home amp, rough wired the power antenna....the whole works. It'* really cool. I'm very pleased with the results. If you really want to do this, blast me an email and I'll do what I can.
After you see mine (now in the proud possession of our youngest member....LilPooky), you'll really want one.

well, the reason i wante to do this was just to get my equipment out of the living room. my mom is nagging me to clean it out. this is just to hold me over until i can get it all in my truck [which btw the seach sucks, i found the perfect truck for me today. drove all the way to RI to buy it. i even called ahead to make sure they still had it. but given my luck, i got there, my dad and i are looking at the truck and the lady comes over and says "you like that truck --i nod-- well unfortunatly we just sold this one about 5 minutes ago" i wanted to kill her when she said that!!] anyway, i really dont want to spend more than $10 hooking this stuff up, i just want to get it out of the living room...and cuz im bored.
thnx for offering the help though, maybe the next truck i look at will have an extra cd player in it i can use.
