Pontaic G8? can this carry the torch? Next Bonneville?
Hey guy'* its been a while since the last time I posted, Nice to see the forum still running strong! . But I wanted to bring discussion on the possiablity of the new Pontaic G8 (Due out early 200 carrying the torch for the Bonneville since it'* production cancelation in 2005. I for one think it can, and to me it has what we have been longing for, V8 Power! and RWD! . Plus it looks really Bad A$$.
And I have to say my bonneville is still kicking with over 138,000 miles on it!!!Still running strong!!

It can carry the torch for Bonneville and Pontiac period. That is one sexy aggressive car. The American auto industry will make a come back with more appealing products like the ones planned for the future.

Everything looks good except, no 3800? Many do not want the 6.0 for a daily driver these days and I am not familiar with this 3.6 that is mentioned. It does look like it makes impressive power though...

Since the 3.6 liter motor is still pretty new, we will have to wait and see how these motors hold up after a couple of more years on the road. It is also sad to see the 3800 go. Maybe the motor could be revived if... 3600'* start having massive failures, or the whole cam is more refined and high tech than push rod thing passes away as a car fad. At least the G8 V8 will be a nice big torquey pushrod v8!
