I'm a Public Safety Commissioner in Albany, and before that, worked for 2 years in Strategic Planning with the PD.
Cop bashing needs to go out with Kill Stories.

I have watched old episodes of COPS where some of the cruisers were 88 Royales and Bonnevilles
Our department here is going with Impalas to replace Crown Vics

I am a mechanic for a "government agency" and we get all kinds of police cars. Right now there are only 3 cars certified for police use,The Impala, Crown Vic and Intrepid. Any other car may be used by police depending on the department, but may not be approved. Our undercover police buy lease turn ins which are regular vehicles and use these for surveilance but not chasing or regular patroling and are usually all tinted out and radios hidden.

I've been pulled over for no reason a couple times, but I wouldn't bash cops, especially here.

Just about anywhere you go, there are exceptions. Yes, there are some 'bad cops', but that'* no reason to lump them all into one category. I surely hope this is the last cop bashing episode (even if it was done in sarcasm, like this one).

I know I'm kinda late with this, but the 3800 could be had in a Lumina, PD or not. 1998-newer Lumina LTZ'* had the L36. Kinda interesting, and pretty rare -when my 1992 Bonneville SE was totalled I tried looking for one and had a hell of a time finding them (few and far in between).

All I have to say is that it'* about time Chevy picked up the L67 in the Impala SS and the MCSSupercharged. Imagine what this will do for aftermarket support?
Our typical sources are going to make out like bandits. PFYC, ZZP, Intense, DP, PPF, etc.
Chevy owners are lucky there'* so much out there already.
