Tell me that'* a joke. There are alot of members here that respect law officers, and some members with ties to law enforcement. Including some sworn officers, if you didn't know.

I'm a Public Safety Commissioner in Albany, and before that, worked for 2 years in Strategic Planning with the PD.

Cop bashing needs to go out with Kill Stories.

I have watched old episodes of COPS where some of the cruisers were 88 Royales and Bonnevilles

Our department here is going with Impalas to replace Crown Vics
Yup you read that right... Some of the Luminas and Monte Carlo LTZ'* had the 3800 II... The Cop lumina with the 3800 II, I'm sure had the police package naturally... That would include a stiff suspension( Heavy Duty ), Trans Heavy Duty, and I'll bet it had the Heavy Duty cooling as well... It was a car that was designed to have the hell run out of it.... I have talked to a couple of the local cops and they love their 3800 II powered Impallas...
Hehe...I can't wait until our department gets thier Impalas and I get to ride in one next time I volunteer This one officer I like to ride with, He really gives his Crown vic a bad time getting to the fights and domestics

I am a mechanic for a "government agency" and we get all kinds of police cars. Right now there are only 3 cars certified for police use,The Impala, Crown Vic and Intrepid. Any other car may be used by police depending on the department, but may not be approved. Our undercover police buy lease turn ins which are regular vehicles and use these for surveilance but not chasing or regular patroling and are usually all tinted out and radios hidden.

I disagree with that. You know what a Police Officers hardest jobs are? Having to knock on a door late at night to notify someone that thier loved one has been tragically killed. And having to listen to statements like that, depsite the fact that they would lay thier life down to protect YOU. Police Officers have a job to do, not always a pleasant one, but they put thier pants on one leg at a time just like you.
I have the hardest job delivering good to civilians in a timely manner and safely through traffic with stupid D,O.T. laws and lousey pay.

Ditto. Please.

I've been pulled over for no reason a couple times, but I wouldn't bash cops, especially here.

Just about anywhere you go, there are exceptions. Yes, there are some 'bad cops', but that'* no reason to lump them all into one category. I surely hope this is the last cop bashing episode (even if it was done in sarcasm, like this one).

I know I'm kinda late with this, but the 3800 could be had in a Lumina, PD or not. 1998-newer Lumina LTZ'* had the L36. Kinda interesting, and pretty rare -when my 1992 Bonneville SE was totalled I tried looking for one and had a hell of a time finding them (few and far in between).

All I have to say is that it'* about time Chevy picked up the L67 in the Impala SS and the MCSSupercharged. Imagine what this will do for aftermarket support?

Our typical sources are going to make out like bandits. PFYC, ZZP, Intense, DP, PPF, etc.

Chevy owners are lucky there'* so much out there already.
