Wow, so does this mean the whole 6 page performance thread was for nothing?
Sounds like your car has some issues. If they are helping you out with buying a newer car, then convince them to help you locate another Bonneville. Explain the advantages (reliability, safe, good mileage) and good luck either way. If you're keeping this one for a while, at least give it a tune-up, take care of it. It should last if there are no major issues now...and save up for a newer car instead of pouring money into mods for this one.
