I haven't achieved my goal yet. However everything seems to be working well so far. After I put a yellow stripe in the center of the valve cover and do various other parts in yellow I will be able to tell better if thats what I wanted. I hope to get my chrome bolt covers soon. I think those will bring out some of the black areas. The only part I am not impressed with it the intake manifold and injector rails, which the paint on both ended up looking horrible. I am going to sand it down and hit it again. The intake is going to stay black, the injector rails are going to be yellow.

Did you take the valve cover off to paint it? It looks like you wires have paint on them, but could be just how I'm seeing the pics. Good luck with the yellow. Can't wait to see the finished product.

No I left the valve covers on. Yeah theres paint on the wires, but those wires are being replaced with yellow Accels or Taylors as soon as I have the money for them .

Let me know how the paint on your valve covers holds up. Is it the same black paint you used on your exhaust manifolds? I may paint mine some day next spring/summer if I can't get them as clean as I'd like. But I at least want to put 3 red stripes on them.

So far there holding up great. No complaints. Yeah I used the same black paint. Its good stuff. Rated for 1200 Degrees and has ceramic in it. Its holding up really well, even on the manifolds. I just hope when I do the yellow it turns out as good as the black did. The valve covers should out last the rest cause they dont get as hot. I would recomend for you to paint yours. I think that they look 100 times better painted than they do the factory silver. I can't wait to do the yellow. I think if I do it right its going to look sweet!

Also I am looking for something that maybe you or someone here in the club could help me with. I am looking for a Pontiac Arrowhead for the vaery top of my intake. I am looking for one at least 3 inches high. I can't find any anywhere. Not even online.

Finished painting the black parts of my engine today. My damn manifolds are flaking. I will have to re-do them . Otherwise its looking pretty good. The engine is flat black. Probably if I have the $$ this week end I am going to get some high temp clear and make it glossy as hell.

Do you have pics of the new paint? I had a feeling your manifols would start flaking. Mine started within a few days. Now (over a month later at least) there are several bare spots. Unless you take them off and prep them/clean them with denatured alcohol or something...or get new ones and paint them then...I don't think the paint will adhere well. I tseems like there'* no real good way to prep them with them on the engine. Sucks...I'd do them again but I know they'll just flake again.

I dont have any recent pictures. The engine still looks the same as in the pictures before. I just finally got the rear valve cover and various other items painted that were not before. I will be posing pictures of it after I get the clear on. I think when the engine is high gloss its going to look alot better than it does now with flat black. The engine paint is holding up very well. I almost give up on the manifold.
