bonnie94sse, When you did your engine parts in gold, did you use a high temp paint or regular?
For the gold I used Plasti-Kote Engine Enamel, 500 degree rating. It has held up perfectly.

The exhaust manifold paint on the other hand

I hope my manifold paint holds up. its rated for 1200 degrees. I know she aint gettin close to that hot. As for the engine my fiance thinks I should do it red and black cause I am painting the bonny red in spring. I like the yellow idea. What do you guys think I should do???? :?: :?: :?: :?:

Well yellow is cool. I have a green car but didn't paint my engine green. So yellow is cool. But the only thing I personally would do is try and find yellow coils, becasue red coils with yellow would be too much. Unless you bring more red under the hood so the coils didn't stand out too much, ya know?

Yea, I'm doing my engine in yellow and black...Not sure I want any red which is one of the reasons that im thinking of bowing out of the ADTR intake...(that and the no info updates...HECTOR?!?!). I found a local place that does custom powdercoating. Thinking of getting my alternator and a few other pieces done in yellow...

My wife actually had a cool idea for my engine compartment. Since my car is blue and I am a huge XMen fan, she suggested a Wolverine theme (Blue and Yellow). Even found a really cool pic of Wolvie'* claws to carve into the engine cover now that I have the beloved Dremel MultiPro

Default The Pictures are here!!

Here are the first pictures of my engine project. I decided to paint the valve cover black and I will soon put yellow stripes on it.

I ran out of black so thats why the rear valve cover is still silver. Also some parts are shinnier than others cause I touched some places up before I took the pictures.
