Oh it never even crossed my mind! Warning duly noted!
They are actually replacing front chrome trim because it is cracked where i hit the dude, and they are replacing the rear chrome along with that at our option (a not-too-cheap option i might add, but the budget barely allowed it)

Shes in primer now!
Tomorrow morning is the day for paint. Tom (the guy assigned to her) says she will be painted by the afternoon if all goes well. He plans on spending more than half of his entire day on solely painting my car. I probably wont be able to get there in time for pictures tomorrow, but i REALLY want to so i will try and get some whorage to post of the shiny new coat.

unless those are scrap wheels and tires you should have them covered...getting overspary off them could be a big PITA later on.

haha. Its at a dealer. Theyve been moving it around lots. The are going to cover the drivers handle and the wheels once its in the paint booth tomorrow morning. Did you honestly think it could be painted with THAT MUCH of the window showing
Thanks for the concern tho
Yea Tom has been at this for a while, if he has taken the time to sand the car over twice, and one entire time by hand i think he will take good care to tape off everything. They are also going to switch the handle tape once the main car dries and paint the handles (the point was to make sure the black strip around the handle didnt get overspray. Theyve taped off under all of the joints in the car. You will not be able to tell this car was repainted, Tom personally garunteed me that was his goal... Ive kinda gotten the idea that hes taken this car on like it was his own. Covered everything down to the last little detail, within our pricerange.
Speaking of wheels, i need some new wheels. Probably a style from 2000 Bonne'* i had posted in a previous post. The chrome will go good with the new shine.

We submitted the cost of what the actual repair for the fender and bumper would have cost to the insurance company. The quote we submitted from the dealer was $1660, so thats what we got from his insurance.
We then proceeded to replace the fender ourselves (in the first post) with one from a junkyard, then used the rest of the money for the paint. The dealer is giving us a steal for what this type of work would have actually cost. We are being charged 1700 when all is said and done.
Actual cost if the dealer wasnt so nice: $2500
SO BASICALLY-- about half the worth of the car in paint alone

We can afford the 2500 ish paint job just because we did much of the labor for them by removing all of the pieces.
