PAINT!! Shes got color!- 56k will die - DSL may need a few -
New pictures posted at bottom!
It is at a dealership getting a fresh coat this week! I had that accident so we fixed the fender ourselves, and prepped the car as much as possible. The dealer said that we would then be able to put all of our money towards paint and paint prep, not just taking apart the car.
We also took it apart so it would be a quality paint job, not just tape everything off and spray.
We got the highest quality paint they offer at $300 a gallon
Heres pics of the prep work:
Replace, sand, lightly patch fender
Take out the headlights, grille... BOY she looks mean!
Spoiler, antenna out... so dirty!
Have you ever seen a doorjam so clean!? (Ok maybe you have...)
Side olding missing, cleaned up the car, 4 color mirror (White outside, black inside, red under that... no idea what the original color of the mirror (it was replaced before i owned the car) was)
All the peices for them to paint!
Its due back at the end of the week, it will be the shiniest thing on the block! Im so excited!

Sweet. Nice to see some work being done on ur end to get a better job overall.
Factory paint? I would be tempted to do a white pearled paint personally. Maybe even the new tintcoat...
Don't forget to hold off on the wax for a few months so the paint can cure nicely, and then make sure you wax the door sills etc. It really keeps them clean.

Here she is after a day and a half in the shop! They are REALLY taking good care of me and my car!
^They had to strip down all the horizontal parts because of the trademark GM paint cracking from the inside out.
^That not actually a hose that you see below the car. Its a perfect ghost image in the white paint dust
^The dude in the background was the one currently assinged to my car. When i got there he was hand sanding the entire front bumper to make sure to get the contour right
The new paint is garunteed for life (against cracking and fading, not chiping from objects unfortunately)

I think this thread should be labeled "Not WOrk Safe". how dare you post naked pictures of your bonneville like that.
Looks like it is coming along rather well. They are taking good care of it. Can't wait to see the final product.
Are they painting over the chrome trim on the bumpers??
