NO MORE DRLS for 99 -93
I went to the pontiac garage today and read their service manual for 10 min and i found out there is a resistor next to the horn on the driveers side fenderwell It is behind the black pcm tray and adjacent to the horn it self. Its white porcelien and has a electrical connector into it. if you yank the 2 prong wire u now have no more drls. So far it doesnt turn on any check engine lights and i havent had the chance to test if it has any other side effects but i doubt it does.
GOOD luck if you have any more ?'* let me know

Nice Job Mike!
I told ya going to a cool pontiac dealer where they would let you use their factory service manual would be worth it!! Thats awesome you figured out the trick, I know that was something you were really looking forward to doing!
Nice Work!!

Azwed-
Its a unit that turns your low beams on at reduced power whenever the car is running. There is no way to turn them off, they are just.... on. Personally, I hate them. Luckily my '95 didnt have them, but my moms '98 Saab Convertible does (also owned by GM), and I hate them. I dont thinks its because theyre different, I think its because they are ugly! If you have a Camaro or a Corvette, then the bright, road-hugging glow of those Yellow DRL'* (which are actually the parking lights on those cars) looks bad ***, like watch out... here I come. I have to say on normal cars though, I think they just look stupid. GM seems to be the only one adapting it, since ford and chrysler dont have them, along with alot of european cars (which is good in my opinion). I see GM'* reasoning behind the safety aspect of it, but give us a break! The Bonneville looks ALOT more sporty coming down the road with just to 2 center fog lights lit and the parking lights, instead of the headlights on a nice, sunny 80 degree day, like an old woman driving in my opinion.
Just my opinion also, but you'll find 95% of GM car enthusiasts like Grand Prix and Bonneville owners, trying everything they can to GET RID OF THEM! GM should listen. Theres even tons of write ups on it for the grand prixs....
Just my $.02

IM going to change over to TRUE HID lights like th BMW'* have they are very expensive lights, however u can not have drls when u install these lights because it will cause them to die alot faster and may causeother problesms w/ the the light ignitor, Thats the reason i want them removed.

where are you getting the true HID light kit ?? How much does it run? I've seen them for around $1,000, but thats only for low beams, we would need 4 bulbs total :(
I spent like $120 on my PIAA'*, because at $60 a pair, I had to buy 2 pairs instead of 1. Need both 9005'* and 9006'* :(
Look sweet as hell though! Keep us updated on the HUD'*!!!

Ok yeah I know what Day Time Runing Lights are cause I work at an independent shop just never heard them refered to as DRLS
Personaly I think they are good idea because there are a lot of idiots on the road and I want to see them/have them see me sooner.
Both the cars I own have been metalic gray. I drive around with the lights on as soon as the sky gets slightly cloudy, even if it is not raining because my car is harder to see. From a good distance on some of the roads here when it is cloudy out my car blends right into the road service :(
