I'm not talking about LOOKS. I'm talking about TECHNOLOGY. HUD, HVAC, Seat controls, new technology....the Series III thing is one of the FEW times the Bonnie has been passed over for something new, it'* not the status quo.

in 92 the bonnie got a redesign and the 3800 TPI engine, the GP didn't.. It had the 3.1 or turbo GTP.. in 95 The Bonnie got the brand new totally reworked 3800 Series II V6 where as the GP didn't even get close untill 97.. Now there is the 00-03 body style.. Its got all of the goodies in it... the GP is still the same....
If GM does make a series III, then I am sure the Series II would be dropped... Whats the point of building an old version if you have a better version in your pocket... IF it comes along I'm sure it will be phased in... And The bonnie will problably get it as soon if not sooner as the GP... Like I was saying theres no point in building 2 buick 3.8 engines..
And the Bonnie is the flagship of pontiac... There sure are a lot of them around here in Florida......![Wink](https://www.gmforum.com/gm/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I think he'* a big fan of the Sunfire, and he'* upset the little car doesn't get the cool options!
You got me where he'* coming from. Way farther out than left field. I've never heard anything even close to what he'* coming off with. I didn't think there was anyone out there that didn't know the 'flagship' or 'technology testbed' reputation of the Bonnie. I wish he'd jump on here and back up his claim with some facts. Maybe we missed something somewhere along the line, but I doubt it. :?

Something else just came to mind. Our ABS/Traction systems were used in newer Caddy'*, too. Developed here, used there. It goes deep....way beyond skin deep. In many ways the Bonneville was the flagship of almost the entire GM lineup.
Maybe he'* talking about the cupholders. They're kinda wimpy.

Ok time to pan out like a cheap top 40 video and look at the big picture. V8 may be the option that the Bonneville is being groomed for. From what I understand the GP will not get this option. I also believe the series 3 as fun as the new title is, is far from an advancement. 15hp??. LOL LOL. It’* a polished SC. Actually you can already buy this from intense. Series 2 is still much much better due to its real hp gain support. Also if they keep changing the styles and mechanics they will be zero support. Maintaining a style as long as possible is wise. I believe GM will truly make up their mind on the Bonneville V8 once 2004 comes around. There are some serious issues coming up. I also believe GM is going to really try and take the aftermarket share with the new v8. They were going to try and outsource but they found the chaotic environment very unfriendly to there large structure. I know they are getting poised to protect their place in the market. I believe this will not hurt the market too much but it is going to change the structure. In the end it’* all talk until it happens. If the market can take it on then yes the GM plans will be an all go. If the market stays low then it will dictate cutbacks on change. That would mean status quos on the Bonneville and they would just swap in the series 3. The fact is GM is doing well and the aurora body style will carry the ability to swap in rear v8 so most likely we will get a v8 Bonneville. Ok now zoom back in to the pimple-laden top 40 corporate wh0re. (This was a comment on the top 40 music scene)
