If you have issues with your car why dont you just go away and not insult an entire manufacture because of it, leave this forum and come back when you change your attitude and realize that pontiac is just as good if not better than any other car manufacture. And even if there not why insult it with all of us lovers on here. Go be a hater on a VW site or somthing

I agree and dissagree with some of the posts made here...
I was very pissed when I found the Tail lamps leaking and my trunk filling with water... Broken studs turned out to be that issue( At the time there were not a lot of 92-95 Bonnies in the junk yard so it wasn't a cheap fix... But I fixed it none the less...
My last battle with water leaks was the worst battle, I had issues with door seals at all 4 corners, Adding a small section of door seal and sealing with RTV in the door seal channel correted those water leaks... I hals found the HVAC Intake leak which turned out to be a seal for the wiper arm Pivot / bearing assembly, a little RTV also cured that... Now the only leak I had left was on the drivers side at the Parking brake well... I took out the hush pannel, ripped out some of the sound deadning insulation, and even removed the parking brake to find the leak... It was a very long fight... I was so pissed with the car I was ready to park it in the river being that it seemed to want to belong there... I gave up for a while and left the interior stripped out... Drove the other car.... Then poof, Brain storm... I removed the Hood hinge on the drivers side and saw the body seem sealer, over the years and with a bit of body flex the seem sealer had worn out... After cleaning and sealing the area, I have never had the car leak again, even with our tropical systems...
My car has had its issues, Maybe more than most... A few of them my own fault as I am hard on the car.... But it has given me very reliable service... I recently made a trip from Florida to WV and Back with no issues at all, and still pulled down good MPG'* for a totally loaded down car with the AC on and running over the speed limit by a bit... I would have another one..
If we want to compare, My friend has a Chevy Malibu with close to 40,000 miles on it If we're lucky... Its a 99, and he has spent more $$$$ on it in repairs than I have the whole time I have owned the 95...
On the Dodge ford thing or any other manufacture...
I am not a Dodge Fan, I am not a Ford fan.... I would have a Ford over a Dodge... But thats just my Opinion, and I am entitled to that as is everyone here on this site...
As for Dodge yes thay have had some problems in the past, Some of the V8'* have had and do have issues with the Oil Pump... But compared to the number of them on the road as compared to the number that have had an oil pump failure, I'd say its pretty safe to go buy one and have it for a long long time...
I have a couple of friends that have had the oil pump die in the dodge trucks tho, But they replaced the engine and these trucks are still going, Yes the Trans is original and over 100k...
A Co Worker has a 2001 Stratus with the 4 Cylinder, and has only had 1 issue, it had to have a new VSS installed on it... At the time she had something else done to it and spent less than $200 on it... This is the only major issue she has had... She is well over 150k now... Her last Car was also a stratus... It was stolen and totalled, at the time I believe it had 120k on it and was a good car very problem free
So here we are... Would I go through the agrivation again of hunting down the water leaks?? Yes I would...
And I have seen the same leaks on the other H and C bodies from GM, so its not just Pontiac

NEVER BUY A LINCOLN, are they still using air ride?
I think so... I believe you can still get rear air suspension on the Town Cars. My old Mark VIII had air-ride, so did my dad'* VII LSC. The VII had all kinds of air problems, the VIII was coverted to coils.
Speaking of Lincolns, air ride, water leaks and whatnot, this thread reminds me of the time last fall when after sustained heavy rain I discovered the passenger floor of my VIII was soaking wet. The culprit was a known one- the caulk around the air duct in the cowl cracked, letting water in under the carpet. Cleaned the mess up, fixed the problem, moved on. I was pissed though, let me tell ya! With the exceptions of my '85 Cutlass and the '95 Camry I had a few years back every car I had leaked some water. So far I've been lucky with the Bonnie, no leaks, fingers crossed on that lol.
I definitely understand how aggravating water leaks can be (5 of my 7 cars leaked), but in the end (this is imo) it'* more about mechanical longevity than watertightness. That'* why I bought the Pontiac- sure, there'* some things I'm not happy with, but I know this car is getting me from A to B reliably and inexpensively.
