Never another Pontiac

Every car will have its problems. You could go out and buy a million dollar Bugetti and I could guarentee it won't be perfect. Its amazing cars last as long as they do if you think about it.

Man, talk about walking into the lions den with a t-bone around your neck......
I don't really understand what you're trying to accomplish with the original post, but if that con outweighs the pros, then sell the sucker. Please don't complain to us without asking for help or anything of that sort, just sell it and be done with it.

Actually I'm quite pleased that the original poster hasn't boycotted GM entirely, just Pontiac. Those water leaks are tricky. Water can enter from somewhere a long ways off and run a stream halfway across the car before it finally drips.

Neither of my Bonnevilles leak a drop of anything at 120k miles on each.
But a car of that age that does leak? It'* the age. For chrissakes, it'* not a spring chicken any more. You can't expect a car of any manufacture to not leak SOMETHING at that age. Even my Honda did.
Got leaks? Fix 'em the first time. You should be upset with yourself for not diagnosing them and repairing them properly, not the car.
We have mechanical sections to help you do just that should you decide to keep the car.

good points
You all make a lot of good points and some of them made me laugh - like the one about the t bone around my neck - that was the best of them all ! I suppose rant is a good word - I have no one else to vent to except you unsuspecting loyal Bonnie owners. Sorry about that ! Of course someone had to call me ignorant and all I can say is it takes one to know one !! Anyway , you guys are probably right . Maybe I did get a bad one or maybe it was mistreated in some way , although when we got the car 7 years ago it had none of these issues. It began in the back seat area and just when I thought I had it taken care of it began in the front and when I did the water hose test ,after I took the carpet out , I found multiple leaks . You guys can't really blame me for getting irritated with this car . It'* had a leak around all 4 door seals and now it'* coming from under the dash . But , yes , you're all right again in the point that it is a 13 year old car . It'* just that I've never had to do this on any other car I've owned and I keep cars a long time . The fact that they 're all made by GM seems to be a good point but maybe different divisions use different rubber compounds by chance or tradtion or whatever . They all use the same great drivetrains fortunately . I was reading about the 3800 on Wikipedia recently and the Fireball V6 as these engines are known , which I didn't know , was one of the top ten engines of the 20th century . The only engines Ford had in on this list was the Model T straight 4 and the flathead V8 and Dodge didn't have one . That'* impressive and is why I would like to keep this car or get another GM with this engine in it . Maybe I'll keep this one as a special ops sleeper or something . On another note , I actually have a Pontiac LS1in my Chevy truck that was removed from a 99 Trans Am - man that'* a sweet engine . Has anyone heard of putting this into a Bonneville ? Thanks for your criticism and understanding !
