Need some help choosing a new ride
My mom is on my *** about getting a 4x4, I still want a sports car but i've always wanted a truck, and since I love sound systems a truck wouldnt be enough space to sound good (im already set on that fact since i look for a specific sound) I think a chevy tahoe is a good choice since i can still lift it make it sound cool outside and inside and they look pretty damn nice lol. what do you guys think?
any other vehicle suggestions would help too please, im really on the fence about a ton of different cars, bonnes, montes, buicks, chevy trucks its getting frustrating LOL im looking to spend between 10-15,000 moreso around the 10-12 area

As much as I love those Tahoes, I think its a little too much. Unless you're going through deep snow, a fwd with good tires can handle most of what you can throw at it. In the last two years (one with my Buick, one with my Ranger), I have gotten stuck in the car once while getting stuck in the truck 3 times.
Also, with the Tahoe, you're gonna get much lower gas mileage. I think you should go with an impala or a lacrosse. If you want a 4x4, have you thought about an early-mid 2000s blazer? My friend had a 97 that got decent gas mileage, was a good size..not too big to maneuver in a tight parking lot, but still roomy inside. He never had any problems with it, other than me rear-ending him, writing it off :/

just realised that truck is 28,000 haha im looking into trailblazers as an alternative
yea i know my car plows through anything you throw at it but my mom is way too paranoid and wont shutup.. plus a little change is always good
also you had a ford that was your number 1 mistake my friend
also also since im doing racing etc i need something that can pull a trailer and my mom doesnt like letting me borrow my truck, even though my brother can run off with it whenever the hell he wants.. but lets not get into that

I'm going to go out on a limb. You like to race, need 4wd/awd.... Need great gas mileage, and would like appreciate reliability. Get the mini-me, AWD version of the Pontiac Bonneville in a smaller footprint.... BMW 330 xi. You should be able to pick up a used one for under 7K, and if you keep it a while you will save lots of coin on gas over the Trailblazer.

that bmw may get decent mileage, but you wont be able to tow anything. and the parts/maint. for those is expensive.
the trailblazers suck gas and have issues with the engines, theres recalls and stuff for the heads on all those inline engines.
the tahoe or yukon if you got a good one if you absolutely had to have a SUV. make sure its one that has the G80 locking rear and a 5.3 engine.
i wouldnt buy one though if i had to have only one car it would be my monte, with a good set of bfg traction T/A'* i can go any where on the road that i can with my yukon. and the very important point is i can stop in half the distance because a car is half the weight. youve driven in snow before, you see who is allways in the ditch first, all i ever see is people in big vehicles tahoes, yukons, suv'* they dont stop and there tippy.

Plus, we've found around here, that the EXT has problems keeping the rims on the car, and they also like to self-ignite under the dash(friend had it happen 2 times)....Get ya a Tahoe or Yukon, pulls more and aren't as prone for breakdowns.
