Can anyone tell me what this "mm" script symbol on some 1970'* GM VIN tags means?

I have no idea. I always thought it was a little symbol of some sort, maybe for the plant where the vehicle was built or something.

Can't say I've noticed it. Not saying it isn't there, but can't say I've noticed it. What cars are these VINs on?
