Going back to filters a friend had a Toyota Celica, when he put a fram filter on it the oil light stayed on for a couple of seconds after starting, when he put a genuine Toyota filter on it went out almost instantly.
Likely due to the shitty quality of most Fram filters and the bypass valve opening too soon.

As for the weighs in oils, I sincerely think that someone at Porsche was out of their damn minds for saying that 0W60 is an approved oil when 20W and 15W were the normal grades. I can see the 60 grade when hot as a thicker oil with more viscosity being a potentially good thing, but when cold, that 0W oil is much, much, much too thin. That is a severe change from 15W and 20W. That oil probably slid right down the valve stems and right past the piston rings and got burnt right up. Had nothing to do with the manufacturer of the oil. Just flat out the wrong grade.

Fram construction is known weak and it'* overflow spring troublesome. Their paper filter is also weak and many have been cut open and shown to be literally crushed and gave way under pressure. And if that isn't enough. The paper pleats in the filter meet at a point where there are attached with a thin metal clip. Many have been opened new to find those two ends aren't sealed the width of the filter paper and useless from day one. You can google search or youtube search Fram or Orange Can of Death to see/hear more. Alot more about their faults used to be available online but Fram is an economic hard hitter and they actively try to squash any bad references to their products with legal threats.

chances are it'* identical to the PH3980 i popped open a while ago, just costs 3X as much.

i guess this is motivation to do so.
