I think the "pads" are VERY effective TRUNK protectors. Without those there would be water galore all over the trunk and lid, starting the dreaded rusting process...

bmsgaffer86, Read your previous post that you did your installation. What procedure did you use to install it? Like how did you determine where to start drilling the six holes? Would appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

MOS95B, Will probably be going to the local u-pull-it this week to look for a real spoiler for mine. Just in case I do find one what tools should I take with me to get it off like yours? Thanks.

On mine, it was just 6 10mm nuts. May want to take a big piece of paper though to make a template of where to dill the holes to mount it.

Step TWO: Hold the spoiler up to your trunk (but not close enough to even think abou hurting your paint) Dream of how coll it will look.
Step Three: Resume pacing for another 2 weeks :?
Yeah when you go, take the big paper with you (or taped toghether little papers) That will help a ton (make sure to mark the trunklid edge so you can place teh template in exactly the right spot). I got my spoiler as a gift so they didnt make a template and it was WAY to much guessing and checking for my comfort...But it turned out perfect. We started by drilling the front left and front right holes then just used a pencil to mark the rest where they lined up with the spoiler sitting in the first two holes...(you can see in your trunk about 6 1" diameter holes in the frame where you will access the bolts.)
P.*. Sorry it took me so long and if you need more info lemme know but the template of the predrilled trunk should work perfectly

Look for a newer sytle grill too like mine if you like it, It uses some bolts (prob just like the spoilers) if you see one, and it'* a good price it might be good. I personally like my grill more then yours but if you like it, keep it.

bmsgaffer86, Hey, Thanks for getting back to me. If I do luck out and find one in my color I think the correct procedure would be for me to catch a flight to the Bluegrass state for a snort of Jack Daniel'* before proceeding with step ONE. I kinda figured i would need some sort of a template for proper placement. Looks like a trip to the local A.C. Moore store for some tracing paper. Speaking of the "pads", are they available thru GM parts?
